These weren’t just ordinary words, they were the sincere cry of a man who was in deep trouble but understood that his only hope was to trust his unknown future to a known God.
It had been 20 years since Jacob carried out the GREAT Deception against his brother Esau. Within those years, Jacob had gone through God’s training school and he was no longer a supplanter or deceiver.
The problem was that he knew this, God knew this but Esau did not know this. In fact, Esau was out to get him⦠and rightfully so.
In Genesis 32:22-23, ‘During the night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two servant wives, and his eleven sons and crossed the Jabbok River with them. After taking them to the other side, he sent over all his possessions. This left Jacob all alone in the camp, and a man came and wrestled with him until the dawn began to break.’
All through the struggle, Jacob remained resolute in his request, βI will not let you go unless you bless me.β
God’s word to us at the 7am Prayer Watch is:
‘It is time to sort things out with me. It is time for the Peniel experience.’
We have an invitation from the Father to spend time alone with Him and let Him sort out those areas of lives that have caused us shame, worry, despair and confusion.
This week:
- Read Genesis 32
- Deny the enemy the chance to create an atmosphere for the presence of God.
- Create an atmosphere for God’s presence through worship, prayer, the word, silence and meditation (being aware of God’s presence).
If you can’t form words of praise on your lips, listen to songs that align with what God is saying to you. After a while, personalize and make it your own song.
I pray that as you spend time with the Father, you will receive a fresh lease of life. You will experience breakthroughs in areas of your life that have defied solution and you will step into all that God has in store for you in this new season.ππΎππΎππΎ
