Encounter Stories! | Treasure Hunt July 2023

Grey skies, dark clouds, torrential downpour… This Saturday was indeed a rainy day in Lagos.

It was definitely not the ideal weather for Treasure Hunting but when has the weather ever stopped the move of God?

We (the Treasurer Hunters) ‘finally’ made it to our meetup location. Interestingly, it was no longer raining by the time we started praying and sharing the downloads (clues) we received.

Behold and lo πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, by the time we got to the exit of the location, we realized that it had started raining heavily again.

The first question we asked ourselves was; β€˜Where were we going to find the people God wanted us to minister to?’

We were in a hotel and we couldn’t just move around from one floor to the other.

It turned out that God used the rain to keep us in the hotel because it was our treasure field.

From where we sat at the lounge directly facing the exit, we found our treasures!

Treasure 1: The Hunters became the Hunted

The encounter we had with this treasure was mindblowing. The Hunters became the hunted!

Right there in the hotel, we spotted several men in black t-shirts but we knew they weren’t the one the Lord had highlighted to us.

Soon enough, ‘The Treasure’ walked in through the door and made his way to the reception desk where he got the newspaper.

He was wearing a black t-shirt and had a gold wristwatch. Interestingly, he turned to look at us briefly before making his way to the cafe.

As he walked to the cafe, one of us specifically pointed out where he was going to sit and he sat down just there!

That was all the confirmation we needed to know that he was the one, our treasure.

The conversation with him was really engaging and went on for over 30 minutes. He was in awe of how he was highlighted by God and we had received a description of him before he walked into the hotel.

In the end, he walked over to speak with the entire group and the best thing happened!

In his own words, he said, ‘I knew Kingdom Community before it started.’ He went on to share about the first time he met with P. ED. We were stunned for words.

Our conversation soon turned into a public ministry time where he prayed for everyone and gave us prophetic words.

Indeed, we became the hunted and we loved every bit of it.

Treasure 2: Security, Gate (black), Blue

Our first treasure was a security official in the hotel who was helping guests out of their cars with an umbrella because of the rain.

Upon speaking with him, he confirmed that he was a pastor and had just resumed working at the hotel two weeks ago.

The word of encouragement that was shared with him was so timely and spot on. He was really grateful for the time of ministry πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸ½.

We’re eager for what God will do in and through him πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½.

Treasure 3: A discouraged worship leader

Where would you find a worship leader in a hotel?

Turns out that we found a group of worship leaders who had come in for church rehearsals. The Lord highlighted the worship leader who was to be ministered  to.

The worship leader shared about how he was dealing with disappointment and how he felt upset with God. The word received was shared with him and he was really encouraged.

God is so so intentional about us πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’ƒπŸ½.

There is just so much we can fit into this report. There were many other things that happened that confirmed how important it is for us to step out in faith and offer ourselves to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our world today.

God has many treasures waiting to be found and we are the ones He has chosen to co-labour with him in bringing in the harvest.
